Frequently Asked Questions
How do I grant calendar permissions?
When you first open iCalarms, you'll be prompted to grant calendar access. If you declined, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars and enable access for iCalarms. The app needs this permission to read your events and schedule alarms.
How do I connect my Google Calendar?
Go to the Calendars tab in iCalarms and tap 'Import Calendar'. Select 'Google Calendar' and sign in with your Google account. You can connect multiple Google accounts and choose which calendars to sync.
How do I set alarm rules for a calendar?
Navigate to the Calendars & Rules section from the settings. Each calendar can have its own alarm settings including: enable/disable alarms, lead time (how early to be notified), snooze settings, and alarm sound.
Why aren't my alarms going off?
Make sure: (1) Alarms are enabled for the specific calendar in Calendars & Rules, (2) Notification permissions are granted in iOS Settings, (3) The app has calendar access permissions, (4) Do Not Disturb is not blocking notifications.
How do I change the alarm sound?
You can set a default alarm sound in Settings, or customize the sound for each calendar in Calendars & Rules. Available sounds include Radar, Chime, and Signal.
How do I disconnect a Google account?
Go to the Import Calendar section, find your connected Google account, and tap to remove it. This will delete the local credentials and stop syncing events from that account.
Does iCalarms work offline?
Yes! Once your calendars are synced, alarms work entirely offline. The app only needs internet access to sync with Google Calendar. Local device calendars work without any internet connection.
How do I import an .ics calendar file?
Go to Import Calendar and select 'Import ICS File'. Choose the .ics file from your device. The events will be imported into a new local calendar that you can then configure with alarm rules.
