Last Updated: January 2025

Introduction

iCalarms ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS application.

Data We Access

iCalarms accesses the following data to provide its core functionality:

  • Calendar Data

We access your device calendars to display events and schedule alarms. This data is read locally and never transmitted to external servers.

  • Google Account Information

If you choose to connect Google Calendar, we access your Google account email and calendar data. This is used solely for synchronizing events.

  • Alarm Preferences

Your alarm settings, including lead times, sounds, and snooze preferences, are stored locally on your device.

Data Storage

  • Local-First Design

All your calendar data, alarm rules, and preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not operate any external servers to store your data.

  • Secure Credential Storage

Google OAuth credentials are stored securely in the iOS Keychain, Apple's encrypted credential storage system.

  • No Cloud Backup

We do not backup your data to any cloud services. Your data remains exclusively on your device.

Third-Party Services

iCalarms integrates with the following optional third-party services:

  • Google Sign-In

Used for authenticating with your Google account. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

  • Google Calendar API

Used to fetch and sync calendar events from your connected Google accounts. This connection is optional.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • Analytics or usage tracking data
  • Advertising identifiers or tracking cookies
  • Location data
  • Personal identifiers beyond calendar content

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties. Your calendar data stays on your device and is only transmitted to Google when you explicitly choose to sync with Google Calendar.

Your Rights

  • Delete your data — Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data
  • Revoke Google access — Disconnect Google accounts at any time within the app or via your Google account settings
  • Manage permissions — Control calendar access through iOS Settings at any time

Children's Privacy

iCalarms is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
